LVRC Holistic Drug Rehab Treats the Whole Person

At Las Vegas Recovery Center, our recovery program offers holistic drug rehab services that treat the client as a whole person. The obsessive-compulsive use of drugs affects a person on every level. A holistic approach treats each level, including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual components of an individual. In fact, the word “holistic” is derived from the Greek word holos, which means “whole.” The recovery process involves rebuilding the “whole self” and learning how to live a balanced life. So as part of our comprehensive in-house recovery programs, we offer clients the opportunity to participate in alternative treatments, including:

  • Acupuncture
  • Yoga
  • Massage
  • Reiki
  • Chi Kung
  • Chiropractic Care
  • Nutrition

Holistic drug treatment offers long-term health benefits and an overall sense of well-being. Our custom designed programs help clients navigate through many of life’s challenges. All of the program options we offer lead to the same destination: Learning to live and enjoy life without the use of drugs.

Massage, Acupuncture, Reiki for Holistic Drug Treatment

We use a wide variety of alternative treatment options to create a holistic drug treatment plan for our clients. Massage, acupuncture, and Reiki are good examples. Studies show that massage increases dopamine and serotonin, which can help those in recovery whose supplies have been depleted. Other addiction issues addressed by massage include pain, agitation, anxiety, and insomnia. In addition, massage can reduce tension, which is especially helpful during the withdrawal period of recovery.

Another effective alternative treatment used in our holistic drug rehab program is acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medical practice that aims at redirecting energy throughout the body. Acupuncturists insert hair-thin needles through the skin in order to alleviate symptoms and restore balance to an individual’s overall health. Our clients report good results with acupuncture, and studies show that it is a viable alternative treatment. Reiki, a Japanese energy technique, works similarly to acupuncture except there are no needles involved. The Reiki practitioner uses his or her hands while an individual is fully clothed to address energy blocks within the body. Reiki is considered mostly spiritual in nature, but it is not associated with any particular religion. Each of these alternative treatment options, in addition to the many others we offer, brings a sense of deep healing to our clients by addressing more than just the symptoms of drug addiction.

Nutrition as a Holistic Drug Rehab Treatment

Each of the holistic drug rehab treatments offered by LVRC is designed to bring an individual to wholeness and provide tools that will help him or her maintain long-term recovery. Nutritional consultation, one of the most important services we offer our clients, provides such tools. Appropriate nutrition can help manage weight, increase energy, prevent vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and maintain a way of life free of substance-dependency. But nutritional information can often be confusing, making it difficult to know the right balance of nutrients to consume in order to be healthy and energetic and prevent lifestyle diseases like addiction. At Las Vegas Recovery Center, we offer clients guidance so they can make food choices that complement their newfound recovery and tailor nutritional plans to meet their individual needs. The nutritional consultation includes a review of the client’s medical history and nutritional history, and development of a menu system specific to each client, one that can be maintained for the long-term.
