Program Structure
Our program length is generally 6 1/2 weeks consisting of 3 groups per week for a total of 20 group sessions. Each group sessions lasts approximately 3 hours and is facilitated by a member of our treatment team. Additionally, clients receive 1 individualized counseling session per week with an assigned counselor. However, this program can be customized to suit the needs of each of our clients.
What Do We Treat?
The primary diagnosis of substance abuse or chemical dependency is needed to attend our program. This includes any and all prescribed, non-prescribed, over-the-counter and illicit substances.
Other areas that can be addressed if they are determined to be problematic:
If your child presents with an extreme psychiatric issue we will refer to an appropriate treatment provider. Additionally, we will coordinate care with an existing provider. If a clients disorder is believed to need more specialist care, we will coordinate a referral. Often various disciplines working in harmony are needed to provide the most complete and effective care.
What Happens During Treatment
The strategies we use during treatment are evidence based practices. These practices consist of:
Typical adult substance abuse out-patient treatment consists of lectures followed by groups to review and process what they have learned. Asking an adolescent or teenager to sit through this is un-realistic. At Central Recovery Treatment, we understand the needs of our adolescent client's differ from adults thus the program must incorporate youth specific treatment modalities. Due to an adolescents unique and often difficult social environment, we provide very specific and individualized treatment focusing on:
We provide client centered treatment planning, and focus on the ASAM dimensions 3-6 to guide the treatment process. This provides ongoing evaluations to determine:
Additionally clients will be required to submit random weekly drug screens. Some clients may be asked to attend 12-step support groups outside of the treatment environment. If this should occur, your primary counselor will discuss this with you.
Family/Parent Integration
One of the most important factors in treatment is family participation. Evidence shows the more involved family is in treatment and recovery, the greater the chance for longer term abstinence. Parents of teens are invited and strongly encouraged to attend our Family Renewal Program, weekly family support groups, and at lease one designated group with their teen two times per month.
